I am a native of Ridgeland, SC, and graduated from the SC Governor's School for Science and Mathematics. I graduated with honors from Hampton University in Hampton, VA with a bachelor of science in Chemistry and received my PhD in Medicinal Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard focused on cancer biology and then served as a research faculty at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, GA. I am very excited to join the Phillip O. Berry community this year and to combine my experience as a scientist with a passion for teaching.
I am married to Dr. Gina Duncan, and have two young daughters, Kendellyn and Ava. I enjoy all things sports, cooking, gardening, and reading.
